A Partnership That Works
Operating a public school district in today's society requires an
enormous amount of time, resources and energy. When persistently
low-performing and disruptive students are added to the mix, teachers
and administrators are strapped even further with extremely time-consuming
classroom management problems, serious and persistent disciplinary
situations and increased requirements to strengthen school and campus
security.
CEP welcomes the opportunity to work with low-performing and disruptive
students, thereby allowing local district teachers to focus their
time, energy and resources on the students who come to school ready
to learn and follow the rules. We work within the school system,
not outside it. We are partners with the superintendent and the
school board. We are partners with the district schools and the
teachers' unions. We are partners with the community and the parents.
CEP works with all of its partners to develop a plan for each student's
transition to and from the CEP program. Especially critical are
the six-week period prior to the student's return and the 90-day
period after the student returns. The goal for every student is
a successful return to their original district school.
