The Problem
One out of every three ninth-graders has been retained in grade at least
once. Approximately 50 percent of students enrolled in the ninth grade do
not complete the twelfth grade.
The Solution
CEP uses a self-paced, accelerated learning model with those
students who are most at risk of dropping out. Since the CEP Program
has been implemented in the Houston Independent School District,
dropout rates have declined.
Statistical charts (links at right) illustrate the staggering
numbers of students that drop out of school.
CEP saves students from becoming drop
out statistics and saves school districts
millions of dollars that would have to be directed to special
education programs and repeated grades for low-performing students.
