The Problem
Many ninth grade
students cannot read at their appropriate grade level, and, therefore,
cannot earn course credits that will allow them to pass subjects
and advance toward graduation.
The Solution
Results show that on average, CEP students gain more than two grade
levels in reading and math for each year in the program. The link to the right demonstrates the
dramatic grade level improvement achieved by Houston's CEP students,
who once were consistently low performers.
